CHRISTOPHER REEVE - COMPLICATIONS OF AN INFECTION

Christopher D'Olier Reeve was a celebrated American actor known primarily for his performance in Superman in 1978, for which he won a BAFTA award.Reeve won critical acclaim across the board with his performances in films such as The Bostonians e Vestiges of the Day. But his greatest legacy in Hollywood was in his role as Superman. 

In May 1995, Reeve became quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse during a competition in Virginia. He used a wheelchair and needed portable devices for the rest of his life. Reeve had suffered from asthma and allergies since childhood and later, his health deteriorated until he died in 2004 of complications from an infection. 

Even years after his death, we still remember him as the blue-eyed superhero. Today, his son Christopher Reeve carries the torch and keeps his beloved father's legacy alive in Hollywood.
