VANITY -KIDNEY FAILURE

Denise Katrina Matthews, known as Vanity, was a beloved Canadian singer-songwriter who reached the pinnacle of success with her singles "Pretty Mess, "Undress and many others.

She was the lead voice of Vanity 6, an American female vocal trio from 1981 until 1983, when it disbanded. Her other singles included "Mechanical Emotion" and "Under the Influence". She has also appeared in several films such as The Last Dragon and Action Jackson.

The artist passed away on February 15, 2016, due to kidney failure. Years of drug abuse led Denise to peritoneal dialysis, and she passed away in Fremont, California at the age of 57.
