Anitta is a great icon of female Funk and Brazilian culture. Born Larissa de Macedo Machado, the singer adopted her stage name from the start of her career. As well as being a singer, she has also worked in various successful fields, such as actress, presenter and producer. Anitta studied marketing and is considered a "marketing success", as she does her own promotion. 2015 was definitely a great year for Anitta! She was voted Sexiest Woman of the Year by VIP magazine and won the 'MTV EMA WorldWide Act Latin America' award. The occasion was a milestone, as it was the first time a Brazilian artist had won the award.
