Fake News about the End of Driving Schools in Brazil: Understand the Bill and the Controversy Surrounding the Driving School Simulator
Fake news about the supposed end of driving schools in Brazil has once again circulated on social media, causing concern among users. The information is based on a bill that proposed removing the obligation for students to attend theory and practical classes at the Driver Training Center (CFC). However, the bill was shelved in 2022 and is not expected to be voted on.
Profiles sharing the erroneous information point out that driving schools would cease to exist in Brazil, which is not true. The bill only proposed that people who already know how to drive but don't have a driver's license should not be required to attend one. The proposal also did not include free CNH issuance, as was suggested in a viral video on TikTok.
Other similar bills are being processed in the Chamber of Deputies, but none of them proposes putting an end to driving schools. Even so, these bills are being held up and are not expected to be voted on. Therefore, driving schools are still necessary to obtain a driver's license in Brazil.
