"Civil War leads the box office in Brazil with R$ 6.5 million in its opening weekend"

Civil War, the new Alex Garland film produced by A24, opened well in Brazil. The film, which stars Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man trilogy) and Brazilian Wagner Moura (Elite Squad), made R$ 6.5 million in its opening weekend.

Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire and Kung Fu Panda 4 continued to perform well, and held on to second and third place, with R$ 3 and R$ 2.5 million, respectively. In total, Godzilla and Kong and Kung Fu Panda 4 have grossed R$ 37.40 million and R$ 38.48 million, making them the two most profitable films in the country so far.

Rounding off the top spots were Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypse and the Brazilian Evidence of Love, which have now grossed R$ 6.9 million and R$ 4.7 million each. Another highlight goes to the horror Abigail, which debuted in sixth place, even though it belongs to a genre with less reach at the box office.
