Hasbro Unveils New Star Wars: The Black Series Figures Based on Droids from The Mandalorian
Hasbro unveils new Star Wars: The Black Series figures inspired by droids from The Mandalorian
Hasbro has just announced the launch of new Star Wars action figures, inspired by various droids from The Mandalorian series. These premium miniatures are scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, as part of a quadruple pack priced at $49.99. The set will also include seven accessories.
Hasbro has been producing licensed Star Wars toys since the early 1990s, after acquiring Kenner Products, which at the time owned the rights to manufacture merchandise based on the Lucasfilm franchise. Almost all the Star Wars media released in the following three decades have inspired the company's toys in some way. Hasbro has been particularly active in the production of The Mandalorian figures since the premiere of the hit series at the end of 2019.
This trend continues with four new models based on some of the robots with artificial intelligence that feature prominently throughout The Mandalorian: the R5-D4, BD-72 and two well droids. This quartet of figures will be released as another addition to Hasbro's Star Wars: The Black Series range. The toy manufacturer intends to offer them as part of a quadruple pack, which will hit store shelves this summer, exclusively in Target stores, as the American retailer has secured exclusive distribution rights for the newly announced products.
Although the pack doesn't yet have a concrete release date, Hasbro has confirmed its price, revealing that the quadruple pack will sell for $49.99. The well droids and R5-D4 are approximately six inches tall, a fairly typical size for miniatures in the Star Wars: The Black Series range. Meanwhile, the figure based on BD-72 from The Mandalorian Season 3 and The Book of Boba Fett appears to be about a third of that size. All four models are promoted as high-quality products, with multiple pose points and premium build quality, worthy of a collector's attention.

Star Wars fans may recognize some of the members of the new droid quartet as Peli Motto's team, an engineer from the Mos Eisley spaceport who helped Din Djarin and Grogu in the first season of The Mandalorian. In addition to the robots themselves, the upcoming package also comes with seven accessories: five repair tools and two jet thrusters that can be mounted on the R5-D4. The same astromech droid can also store the remaining accessories in a holder located between its chassis and legs.
Hasbro's future The Mandalorian figures will hit the market during a quiet period for the spin-off series; the show's third season concluded almost a year ago to the date, with Disney not officially announcing a fourth season. However, the media giant has confirmed that The Mandalorian and Grogu movie will hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
