Newsco, news app with artificial intelligence, receives investment of R$ 1.6 million from Strive and angel investors

"Newsco: the Spotify of news hits the market with R$ 1.6 million investment from Strive"

Newsco, a startup that promises to revolutionize the way we consume news, has just hit the market with a pre-seed investment of R$ 1.6 million. Led by the Strive accelerator, the company is already attracting the attention of investors and the general public.

Founded by Gabriel Cantu and Lucas Bastianik, Newsco uses artificial intelligence to filter and select content from more than 100 news sources, offering users a personalized and reliable experience. Unlike other platforms, the startup does not consume news from social networks, guaranteeing the quality and credibility of the information provided.

With a freemium model, the app can be used for free, with the option of a premium plan for those who want an ad-free experience with advanced features. In addition, the company is already preparing a new version of the app with the Story 2.0 function, which promises to bring short videos summarizing the main news of the day.

With 800 downloads and 400 active users, Newsco's goal for the first year of operation is to reach 200,000 active users per month and 5% paying customers. And Strive's investment couldn't have come at a better time, allowing the startup to invest in its team, infrastructure and partnerships with local influencers.

For the accelerator, the bet on Newsco is due to the qualified team, the experience of the founders and the potential for disruption in the media market. With ambitious plans for the future, Strive aims to have between 12 and 15 investees in its portfolio by 2024, contributing to the transformation of the media and information landscape.
