The giant cat from Jaú that could enter the Guinness Book as the largest in the world
The giant cat from Jaú, Xartrux, is about to enter the Guinness Book as the world's largest feline. At 6 years old, weighing more than 10 kilos and measuring an impressive 1 meter and 30 centimeters in length, the maine coon became a national celebrity after a story aired on JCNET and Rede Sampi.
Xartrux and his tutors, Marcia Oliveira and Jean Martins, traveled to São Paulo to take part in television programs, such as Globo's Encontro com Patrícia Poeta, and were featured in various media outlets, such as Record TV Paulista, G1, Band and others.
Marcia, who has been passionate about cats since childhood and found Xartrux a great emotional support during her cancer treatment, is following the process of validating the feline's entry in the Guinness Book. In July, the couple hopes that Xartrux will be officially recognized as the largest cat in the world, surpassing the current record of 1.19 metres.
The story of overcoming and love between Marcia, Jean and Xartrux has moved Brazil and promises to continue winning hearts until the world record is confirmed.
