In 2013, Pratt had to undergo a dramatic transformation to play his character in Guardians of the Galaxy. In order to lose weight, he told Men's Journal who stopped drinking beer and worked out three or four hours a day doing things like P90x, running, swimming, boxing and kickboxing. He also hired a personal trainer and nutritionist, increased his calorie intake to 4,000 calories a day and started drinking a lot of water. Pratt told the publication "I was pissing all day, every day. That part was a nightmare". But it was worth it. Chris managed to lose 27 kilos in just 6 months.
